Hilton Athens aims to make a little go a long way
Guests at the Hilton Athens will be making a big difference this winter to children in need, as “Hilton in the Community Foundation” launches a Europe-wide fundraising campaign. ‘Small Change Big Difference’ will be running in Greece throughout October, November and December this year. The campaign invites Hilton guests to add an optional €1 onto their room bill during their stay. All proceeds raised from the campaign in Athens will be channelled through HCF to support “Mazi gia to Paidi” (“Together for Children”), a Union of 10 non-profit Greek Organizations. The Union’s main aim is to offer every form of assistance to more than 5.000 infants, children and young people in need and in particular to those facing chronic, serious or life-threatening physical or mental conditions or the sickness or death of an immediate family member.
Bart Van de Winkel, General Manager of the Hilton Athens said: “This is a very worthwhile campaign and one that I hope our generous guests here in Greece will support once again. By choosing to add an optional €1 we can help “Together for Children” (“Mazi gia to Paidi”) to ensure that disadvantaged children receive the support that they need. Working together your small change really can add up to make a real difference to children’s lives”.
“Small Change Big Difference” is an initiative of the “Hilton in the Community Foundation”, the charitable arm of the Hilton family of hotels, which was founded in 2000 in order to support children in need. The Foundation's core costs are funded by Hilton Hotels, so every net pound raised goes directly to good causes. All funds raised by hotels in a country will benefit young people in that same country. ‘Small Change Big Difference’ has now been running as a campaign since 2004 raising over €1 million for children’s charities thanks to the generosity of Hilton Worldwide Guests.
The campaign will run in 128 hotels in Europe. For more information, visit www.hilton-foundation.org.uk . For more information regarding “Mazi gia to Paidi” (“Together for Children”) visit www.mazigiatopaidi.gr or call 0030 210 7482690.
